Abstract

This article aims to point out difficulties in the educational system, due to school dropout. The early stampede of students and the lack of interest in learning was a concern well before the Covid-19 pandemic, but with the obligation of social isolation and remote education from March/2020, school dropout rose even more. Based on the knowledge acquired in the experience lived in the Pedagogical Residence Program (PRP) linked to Capes,if in this article carry out a bibliographical research that points out the main reasons for school dropout and what gaps and/ or learning lags will arise in the Brazilian educational system in the future. As theoretical bases we use the studies of BARROS, et al, (2021), which argue about the terrible consequences of the violation of the right to education for the economic and civic development of the country. Also, it is observed with the research of UNICEF, entitled "Confronting the culture of school failure" that learning difficulties, lack of routine study and school dropout already existed before remote education, however, has been enhanced with the lack of classroom teaching. In the meantime,  during the experience of the PRP we analyzed the data of the school, reflecting on the reduction of the numbers enrolled in the mode of teaching of young people and adults (EJA), at the State Institute of Espírito Santo, Jaguarão/RS and culminatesif with a reflection of reduction of numbers enrolled in the National High School Examination (ENEM).
