VARIAÇÃO LINGUÍSTICA NO ENSINO FUNDAMENTAL ATRAVÉS DA TROCA DE CARTAS ENTRE ESTUDANTES GAÚCHOS E PARAIBANOS
Abstract
The following study is an experience report of a pedagogical project conducted in a seventh grade class, in a Gravataí public middle school, throughout 2019, during Portuguese Language classes. Said classes were themed around the exchange of personal letters through a pen pal system between schools located in extreme opposites of Brazil: Gravataí, in southern Rio Grande do Sul, and São Domingos do Cariri, in northeastern Paraíba. The goal of this project was to allow participating students to acquire firsthand knowledge in linguistic variants, comparing and contrasting two separate regions in Brazil, and from that point on, get in touch with new vocabulary, routines, places, and habits pertaining to both the South and the Northeast. Besides, this experience allowed students of both schools to put together a book that registered their newfound knowledge resulting from this project.
