Abstract

Abstract. This paper aims to reflect on vocabulary learning in Spanish (LE) using Augmented Reality (AR) technologies. With an emphasis on the importance of technologies in the classroom, and especially AR technology, this study developed an application that semiotically translates Spanish words through 3D images. In the light of researchers like Leffa (2009, 2016, 2020), we raise questions about the use of technology in the classroom and situate AR tools as a potential for ergodic learning, as well as the conceptualization of LE classes as a complex system to from the reflections of Morin (2011). This work investigates and presents the advantages and challenges of AR resources in learning new words in Spanish and the possibilities of their implementation. Finally, it is expected to contribute to a significant learning of new words in LE and, also, to influence teachers to work with technologies in language teaching, especially with AR technologies.
