INSTAURATIVE JUSTICE AT WORK: CHALLENGES AND POSSIBILITIES FROM AN ANALYSIS OF WORK IN THE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY

Abstract

This production is the result of the discussion carried out in the thesis “The repercussions of the dialectic of retributive culture and restorative culture on the safety culture of the oil and gas industry”. The objective of the thesis was: to analyze the contradictions of the safety culture in the oil and gas industry in its approaches and distances with retributive and restorative cultures, in order to propose ways of materializing restorative practices in a human factors program that contributes to the safest, most equitable and fair work processes (just culture) in the oil and gas industry safety culture. This research was configured as qualitative and applied, as it aims to generate knowledge for practical applications, aimed at solving specific problems; The study is descriptive, retrospective and, in terms of procedures, involved bibliographic and documentary research and information generated by action research. In total, 40 documents were analyzed. The commitment to a fair, restorative culture appears as a mechanism for reducing the damage caused by lack of protection for workers. Within its limits, it does not appear as a possibility of changing the order of capital, it could, however, be effectively responsible for saving lives and reducing the damage caused by overexploited work to the worker's life.
