THE FAR-RIGHT POPULISM AS A SYMPTOM OF THE RESENTMENT GENERATED BY NEOLIBERAL RATIONALITY
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study conducts a theoretical and qualitative analysis of populism and neoliberal rationality, drawing on authors associated with critical theory. Populism is discussed as a performative and ambiguous political style, which can be present in both right-wing and left-wing movements. The study explores how neoliberalism shapes subjectivities, promoting competition and individualism. The 2008 crisis intensified social resentment, fueling authoritarian and exclusionary discourses. Far-right populism thus emerges as an expression of this resentment, exacerbating social fragmentation and the disintegration of collective bonds.
