SOCIAL WORK, CLIMATE CHANGE AND INTERSECTORAL POLICIES

Abstract
: The climate crisis has highlighted how social and environmental issues originate from the relations inherent in the capitalist mode of production. From the studies conducted, it was observed that this scenario further impacts intersectoral policies, already undermined by the neoliberal agenda. Thus, based on the premise that phenomena resulting from climate change create a need to consider strategies that encompass the specificities of the most vulnerable groups in society. Using a data collection technique, an in-depth examination of academic literature with an eco-Marxist approach was conducted to formulate theoretical reflections in Social Work, as well as an analysis of Brazilian public policy texts. The analyses identified challenges in professional training, preparing professionals to work from this perspective, particularly in developing interdisciplinary knowledge to address the complexities of the contexts.
