Abstract
The present study aims to understand and examine historical and social aspects related to precariousness in the relations of contemporary work through the analysis of the studies developed by Pierre Bourdieu and Luc Boltanski. It is a qualitative study that identified a sociological analysis of precariousness at work in Boltanski's work, while in Bourdieu, although he is recognized as the first author to use the term "precariousness", it was considered that the texts analyzed do not present a sociological analysis of precariousness. More strongly, they address a political criticism of capitalism, as well as the consequences that precariousness has generated in people's lives. Moreover, it was found that several authors suggest the use of the theoretical construct of Bourdieu's habitus as an analytical tool in the contexts of precariousness, these being the main contribution of this article to the areas of Organizational Studies and Labor Relations.
