To re (think) the solid waste management of Araraquara-SP
Main Article Content
Abstract
The topic of solid solids has been discussed more frequently in recent years. The city of Araraquara-SP has great potential in relation to solid waste management. One of the initiatives implemented to improve waste management was the creation of Disposal Points for Debris and Large Waste (DPDLW), aimed at reducing improper disposal and the associated environmental impacts. The general objective of this research was to understand the reality of inadequate solid waste disposal around DPDLW and their respective neighborhoods. To achieve the proposed objectives, field work and interpretation of data and information collected in relation to inappropriate disposal were carried out. Currently, there are still significant specific disposals of solid waste, which cause socio-environmental impacts such as clogging of drains, pollution of forests and streams, fires, vectors of disease transmitters and venomous animals, affecting the population's quality of life. It is concluded that PEVs are essential to minimize inappropriate disposals, but, for the municipality to be able to reduce and even eliminate irregular disposals, it is necessary to enhance the use of pockets, starting from the improvement of some measures of the management responsible for the solid waste and greater engagement in partnerships with the community itself.
