Abstract

After the so-called April War or Four Day War that occurred in Nagorno-Karabakh (N-K) in April 2016, the region returned to a situation of direct conflict, starting in September this year. In that gap time, the region that is disputed by Armenia and Azerbaijan, was exposed to external interventions, both from the countries that dispute it and by third parties that formed alliances with them, for strategic geopolitical reasons. In this sense, the escalation of the conflict in the South Caucasus, presents yet another region that has been suffering since before the Cold War, with the advance of colonial imperialism.
